Oh how far we have come. Throughout the course of our existence, we have accomplished so much. From technological advancements to societal improvements, we have come such a long way.
It was us who invented the telephone, connecting every human to every other human through one device. It was us who invented the automobile, allowing us to travel much more quickly than our feet would have allowed. It was us who created machines to do the jobs that we dreaded. It was us. Humanity has made the world more efficient and more tightly connected than it has ever been before.
Starting as cavemen, we were governed by only our appetites. Quickly, we became more civilized and began establishing laws for the common good. We established ways of living that benefited both ourselves and our communities, allowing for growth on an individual level and on a societal level. This led to more leisure time where we investigated less pressing, but equally important matters. We started schools to teach the youth and researched ways to improving ourselves, our communities, and our planet. However, after all of this change, individuals continue to complain that it isn’t enough. Oh how far we’ve come.
